Dot is Kate Ellwanger, a 22-year-old composer and producer currently based in Los Angeles. She is a recent graduate of Chapman University’s Conservatory of Music, which led her to the class of Dubspot beat guru Steve Nalepa, where she was introduced to electronic music production as well as the founders of TeamSupreme. Dot quickly discovered Low End Theory and the thriving Los Angeles beat community, which began to profoundly impact her production aesthetic. She debuted her live set at Low End Theory in 2011, and had continued to play in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, and Singapore. She recently followed the release of her debut EP Calliope with a full-length album titled Evolve or Dissolve (out now on Alpha Pup Records). In addition to creating her own music, Dot also produces for other artists such as SZA (TDE), Teri GenderBender (Les Butcherettes, Bosnian Rainbows) and Kail (Hellfyre Club).  Her sound is influenced by the music of Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Nosaj Thing, Frank Zappa, Brian Eno, The Silver Apples, and many more.
